The theme of the call was Happiness. For me happinness is only experimented when you fully live each emotional state that presents in your life. The attitude of accepting life as a changing experience of transformation and learning… This is what I call can be called happiness.
The water, the outmost present element on our planet is for me the best symbol of change and transformation, it adapts to any form, flows around obstacles, can be hard as a rock and ethereal as air. This sculpture is dedicated to the power of transformation of water. It is a homage and also a place to make cult tu this element. The Monolyth on the center traps the morning dew as did the ancient walls on the highest part of Machu pichu and drop by drop water will fall into the carved bowl below.
I also want to make clear that only afte some days of been in Turkey I realized the great message this sculpture could bring to the city of IZMIR. I mean, the day I arrived I saw the sea…Inmediately I told the taxi driver I thought it could be fantastic to have a swim everyday after work…he told me the water here was so contaminated it was banned to swim in it.
Ten days after I realized this was the true meaning of my work, It was ment to awake a healing attitude towards water on the people of IZMIR, as uthopical as it may sound. As I said my sculpture is a homage to water… it would capture the purest water there is…the morning dew, coming from contamined water but freed 100% through evaporation of contaminating agents will be ofered to people and reverred as being the centre of the work.
The work carries the message of purificating the idea of water on the people, i believe if this idea is on Izmir’s people it will find it’s way into reality sooner or later.
El tema de la convocatoria fue la felicidad. Para mi la felicidad solo es experimentable viviendo plenamente cada estado emocional que se nos presente. La actitud de aceptar la vida como una experiencia de cambio, transformacion y aprendizaje es lo que yo pienso que puede ser llamado FELICIDAD.
El agua, el elemento más presente en nuestro planeta es para mí el mejor simbolo de cambio y transformarcion, se adapta a cualquier forma, fluye alrededor de los obstáculos, puede ser duro como una roca y etéreo como el aire.
Esta escultura está dedicada al poder de transformación del agua. es un homenaje al agua un sitio de culto a ella, el monolito central atrapará el rocío de la mañana en el interior de los cortes como lo hacian las antiguas murallas en lo alto de machu pichu y gota a gota el agua caerá en el recipiente.
También quiero decir que . Sólo aquí en Turquia me di cuenta del gran mensaje esta escultura puede realizar especialmente para la ciudad de Izmir . Cuando llegué aquí en Izmir y vi el mar … Inmediatamente pense que seria delicioso nadar todos los dias despues del trabajo, pero me dijeron que el agua estaba contaminada y la gente no solía nadar en ella.
Sólo alrededor de 10 días después de mi llegada me di cuenta de que éste era el verdadero significado de la obra que estaba haciendo aquí: sanar el espíritu del agua en el pueblo de Izmir . Mi escultura es un homenaje al agua . El agua de rocío de la mañana es la más pura, cuando se produce la evaporación , el agua se purifica 100 %, se libera de cualquier agente contaminante , será absolutamente puro , y , sin duda vendrá del mar de Izmir .
La escultura lleva el mensaje de purificar agua, purificar la idea del agua en nosotros, si esa idea está en el corazón de la gente de la ciudad ella encontrará su camino en la realidad tarde o temprano.
